Gas Fireplace Service
Hearth products, because they involve flame, heat, and venting of combustion products, require specialized knowledge. We have the most experienced gas log service technician in the region, with over 20 years of gas fireplace and repair experience. He has earned the NFI Gas Specialist certification from the National Fireplace Institute, which means he has passed an exam based on the knowledge needed to properly plan and install hearth products and their venting systems. This certification is regarded as an excellent indication of our professional training and commitment. We service most brands of up vented, direct vented, and vent free gas fireplaces, stoves, inserts, and wall heaters.
We offer in-store repair on small, typically vent-free gas appliances that you can bring into Fireplaces ‘N’ Fixin’s. Our trained technician will evaluate the unit, and if it is not repairable, there will be no charge for the diagnosis. If repairs can be made, he will inform you as to the extent of the repairs and the cost before commencing any work.
Chimney Inspection and Sweeping
The Chimney Safety Institute of America and the Center for Disease Control both recommend that you have your chimney inspected every year. Even if you don’t have a fireplace, you probably vent natural gas or oil emissions through a chimney with your furnace and water heater. Our technicians use state-of-the-art equipment to inspect and sweep chimneys of all kinds, including wood and gas-burning chimneys. While sweeping your system, we ensure that it’s in working order. We look for any problems that could prevent peak performance and recommend what is needed for your system to burn cleanly and safely. The CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep® credential is acknowledged by industry organizations, insurance underwriters, local, state and federal agencies as the measure of a chimney sweep’s knowledge about the evaluation and maintenance of chimney and venting systems. We offer two levels of site evaluation for your chimney system based on the hearth product you have or are planning to install.
Level 1 Site Evaluation:
For direct vent stoves and fireplaces; wood stoves connected to an approved existing class “A” chimney; and gas logs. Includes all necessary measuring for gas line (if applicable), electric (if applicable), class “A” chimney systems, connector pipe, venting systems for direct vent stove or fireplace, stove pad, stove size, stove/fireplace clearances, chimney caps/covers.
Level 2 Site Evaluation:
For wood burning inserts and gas inserts; wood stoves connecting to existing masonry flue. Includes sweeping of flue and a video inspection of chimney (if applicable); includes all necessary measuring for unit, chimney liners, chimney caps, co-linear vent systems, and electric connection (if applicable).
