Installs & Service
The key to the success of our business at Fireplaces ‘N’ Fixin’s has always been that we provide the expert installation and service for all the product lines we sell. This started when we opened our doors 34 years ago, when we felt that proper installation was critical to a customer’s safety and performance in regards to woodburning installations, and it is no less true for installations of gas fireplaces and furnaces, and geothermal heat pumps. In retrospect, this aspect of our business is what has helped ensure our longevity, as while the big box retailer can provide some of the appliances or product that we sell at competitive pricing, no one in our region provides in-house installation and service for the products we sell. Anyone who has ever purchased an inferior product from a retailer who is untrained or unable to provide the parts and service, regardless the price, knows the frustration that results when you return for parts or service to find out that neither are available, and you hear the gee, sorry-for-your-luck story.
After the sale service is very important when you consider that there are few, if any, dealers in the region who even have the training and expertise to offer service for the very specialized fields of wood and gas burning fireplaces and heaters, and geothermal heat pumps. We feel so strongly about this that we do not participate in online sales, as we think it irresponsible to sell equipment to a customer just to collect his revenue and not be able to provide the field service critical to safety and performance. In fact, we will not provide parts or service to equipment that is sold by others, and in particular, online sales.
We will only sell product lines that are [as much as possible] made in the USA by companies that have the same record for providing parts and service that we do. In other words, if we question the quality or integrity of manufacturers in regards to being around in future years to provide the parts and technical support that we feel comfortable with, we will not offer the product. On the wood and gas burning appliances, we are certified by the National Fireplace Institute, and on geothermal furnaces we were trained and certified by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association [IGSHPA]. Over these two individual certifications, we are primarily licensed and certified to do the work in the field by our Ohio and West Virginia HVAC Contractors License. [Ohio license 20033, and West Virginia license WV020355]. In additon, all of our installation work is covered by a two million dollar liability policy, and of course we pay Ohio and West Virgina workers compensation.
